We had reserved a table for 6:30 PM. At 8 p.m. the main course finally arrived. We had to go to a concert so we ate our food within fifteen minutes. They really need to hire more staff, I had the impression that the woman who cooked also served, it wasn’t until half past 7 that we saw a man serving. So if you really have the time, that’s fine, but you still have to go somewhere then it’s better to go somewhere else. The food was also fine
Had a very delicious meal at Gandhi’s.The restaurant is typically decorated as you would expect from Oriental restaurants. It’s not big, but that makes the atmosphere even homely. The owner is very friendly and always has the opportunity to have a chat. The flavors of the food are really delicious!!! The restaurant is easy to reach on foot from the center. There is even a parking garage across the road. There are still road works at the intersection near the restaurant, but that should be completed in January ’25.The window says “best curry in Haarlem”. That could be possible, but for that I also have to try the other Indian restaurants 😁But definitely worth eating here👍
ordered 2 servings of chicken tandoori at 6:32pm, and only got served at 7:38pm. we asked about the progress of our dish 50mins in, and was told that it is made fresh thus the wait. but to be seated at a place for an hour with no tap water provided, and no warning that it will take this long is frustrating. other patrons also look annoyed by the long wait for their food — the place is not packed.
Ordered indian snacks, which were yummy and the preparation was very niceThe green chutney was amazing. Definitely should order this with appetizers.Dinner was ok. We ordered cottage cheese curry and mushroom curry. Both dishes tasted quite similar. The rice was definitely nice.Definitely order mango lassi. It was really good and yumm.Friendly staff. We had a fun evening chatting with the owner about India and Punjab.
Fantastic place for an outstanding pancake. It’s a place with great decoration and cozy. The staff is super friendly and ready to help you making your decision. Some beer selections and sodas as well. The location is great, super relaxed neighborhood. Be aware that there’s no free Park in the neighborhood.Ideal for a walk before or after. Will go back
I just paid 13 euros for this mixed grill consisting of one small chicken drumstick, 2 individual cubes of meat, a very poor peshwari naan bread And a lamb cutlet, it took 20 minutes to prepare, I think possibly the worst Indian take away I have ever had. I will not be ordering again.
The food is great here! The portions are fair, and I appreciate that all mains come not only with rice but also with vegetable curry (at no extra cost). The interior is nicely decorated. The staff are very friendly but a little awkward, but that’s okay.
